Definition of a Call
The definition of what a call means.
In our Internet marketing stats email, a call is counted as the number of unique telephone calls made from visiting your website. So this is the number of times your company received a phone call from a new person viewing your website. If that same person calls your company from visiting your website again, we don't count that as a call. The count is only unique phone calls.
How this is Done
We place a special code on your website that dynamically replaces the phone numbers on your website for a special tracking phone number that records every time someone calls that number. For some websites this code also displays a different tracking phone number depending on where the website visitor came from (how they got to your website). This allows us to find out what marketing aspects are driving people to contact you.
Why is call tracking important
Call tracking is important because not every person visiting your website will reply to you by submitting a form on your website. In fact, we've found that a large majority of website visits tend to call a company rather than submitting a website form. So being able to track how well this is going is critical to improving and maintaining your marketing.
